BLS
Basic life support (BLS) is a primary level of medical care which is used for victims of an emergency/life-threatening condition until they can be given full medical care at a hospital. BLS is generally used in the pre-hospital setting, and can be provided without medical equipment. Although it can be provided by trained medical personnel, laypersons who have received BLS training should be equally qualified to provide it.
The BLS program:
– Is an standardized step-by-step training that uses mnemonics actively to enhance your performance.
– Does not include any invasive technique, however it teaches you how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an Automated External defibrillator (AED) if available.
Heartsaver® First Aid is an instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other emergencies.
The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is a 4.5 hrs Course designed to provide healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. A minimum of 6 participants is requested to open a group.
